How 2nd Year Fantasy Player Uses PlayThisGuy! Consensus Wire Advice to Get a Leg Up on the Competition

.

Below is a Q&A with Jay, a 2nd year fantasy player, on how he uses PlayThisGuy! to win more often.

.

How long have you been playing fantasy football and how many teams do you manage each year?

I’ve been playing for 2 years and manage 2 teams – one for money and the other as a work league.

.

How did you hear about PlayThisGuy.com?

I was searching for a better alternative than site-by-site research and came across PlayThisGuy.com on Google.

.

What do you like most about PlayThisGuy! and how is it helping you win more often?

I like that it consolidates most of the sites that I reference and takes the average position into account.  I think that when you take the advice of one “expert” too seriously, it tends to just be a matter of opinion and preference, and in the end, you’re taking one person’s thoughts and risking your league on them.  By taking the average ranking of just about every player in the league, it offsets the spite or affinity that some “experts” have on players.   The list I pay the most attention to is the Wire pickups – great info there!

.

What tips on how you use PlayThisGuy! could you share with others?

Don’t take the info to heart, you still have to use your own experience and knowledge to make your decisions.  You shouldn’t depend on someone telling you who to play or sit each week.  PlayThisGuy! is an excellent resource for tips and information and consolidates the top fantasy sites info into one easily accessible list.

.

Do you use PlayThisGuy! in an interesting way?  If so please let us know.

First of all no wonder you’re in the playoffs…you’ve got a pretty solid team.

The experts have Calvin Johnson as #7, Jennings as #12, Boldin as #21 and Wallace as #18. My opinion is you have to play Calvin Johnson. I would stay away from Jennings as it looks like Matt Flynn will be at QB for the Packers. That leaves us with Boldin vs. NO at home and Wallace vs. the Jets at home. Don’t love either matchup but my opinion is to go with Boldin vs. NO. There is a higher probability of NO putting points on the board which could force BAL into more passing. The Jets on the road at PIT smells of a low scoring game.

As for RBs, the experts have Foster ranked #1, Hillis #4 and Johnson #3. I don’t think you can take Foster off the field in any circumstance so I would definitely start him. While Hillis and Johnnon both have good matchups I would play the odds that the TEN/ HOU game will have more points scored so I would play Johnson. It’s a bit of a risk since you have both RBs in the same game but you have to play the odds that points will be put up there. If you feel more comfortable not putting all your eggs in that one game then Hillis is another very good option. Can’t go wrong with either in my opinion.
